Job Description Summary
The Business Banking Relationship Team Manager will be responsible for managing and leading the daily operations of a team of virtual Business Banking Relationship Managers and will be accountable for developing, deepening, and retaining business banking relationships with annual revenues up to $10 Million in an assigned portfolio. Major responsibilities also include partnering with Business Development Officers and their managers throughout the footprint to assist with onboarding new customer relationships. Additionally, engaging critical partners such as Treasury Management, Branch Managers and other OCR solution providers that will assist in growing and retaining the assigned banking relationships will be critical to achieving success.
The manager will work closely with the team in order to provide advice and guidance around recommendations / solutions unique to each customer's specific banking needs and will be accountable for providing consistent and constructive coaching and colleague development for the team. The manager will also be responsible for maintaining portfolio credit quality and ensuring all requests for credit extensions are properly structured, priced and documented.
Essential Job Functions:
Manages and directs a team of Business Banking RM's in order to attain the defined sales, retention, and deepening goals through strategic and tactical coaching around activities and behaviors, which should in turn ensure RM's achieve an understanding of the customer's goals, objectives, and operating cycle.
Responsible for administering human resource activities such as hiring, terminations, and performance management
Promotes strong sales and service culture through coaching, guidance, influence, and motivation.
Ensures the team of RM's focus on customer retention and growth by providing consultative advice and solutions to enhance and expand the customer's banking relationship in areas such as, but not limited to, deposits, loans, treasury management, capital markets, consumer and wealth management, equipment leasing and insurance. Also serves as an added contact for the assigned portfolio of customers.
Effectively interprets operational risk to the bank, including, but not limited to, risk associated with NSF/OD's, fees and credit extension and quality, and other transaction related items.
Maintains and applies a thorough understanding of the Bank's credit policy, customer eligibility and all necessary business practices to ensure the submission of accurate and complete loan packages.
Works closely with underwriting teams to analyze and structure new credit requests, renewals and annual reviews. Obtains financial statements, tax returns and other credit information as needed. Assists with loan applicant interviews to interpret information regarding their business needs, earnings and repayment abilities. Maintains portfolio credit quality metrics and partners with the appropriate colleagues when credit deterioration occurs.
Ensures job duties are performed within established bank controls, risk and audit protocols.
Participates in community and business functions to ensure a positive image for the bank.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent of an additional 4 years combination of education and business banking experience
Minimum of 7 years Business Banking /Commercial Lending experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Admin, Finance or Accounting
Experience leading a Business Banking or other financial team management.
Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
Ability to effectively communicate and lead a team to achieve sales goals.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfort and familiarity with commercial lending principles.
Understanding of bank policy and procedures.
General understanding of small and medium size companies.
Understanding and knowledge of bank products and services.
Analytical, credit and negotiating skills.
Planning and organizational skills.
PC skills including knowledge of Touchpoint and other bank systems as well as MS Office Suite.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
