3K a year 10 days ago 10 days ago 10 days ago Full Job Description The specimen processor will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.
Job Duties/
Responsibilities:
Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing Unpack and route specimens to their respective departments Accurately identify and label specimens Pack and ship specimens to send out to a reference lab Meet department activity and production goals Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner Resolve and document any problem specimens Performs patient registration per laboratory guidelines and accurately enters test orders requested by clients into laboratory informatics systems.
Communicates with healthcare personnel about clarification of test requests, other problems related to the specimens, and testing delays.
Performs specimen processing according to the criteria in the laboratory test directory.
Performs specimen receipt and tracking in the LIS and distributes to the respective departments.
Centrifuges, aliquots specimens, processes paperwork, and documents in the LIS.
Performs scanning of documents in eBridge as assigned.
Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Previous experience in clinical laboratory or related work environment preferred.
Comfortable handling biological specimens Experience working in a team environment Strong data entry and organizational skills High level of attention to detail Proficient in MS Office Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
