Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Administrator, the Director of Housekeeping & Laundry assumes responsibility and accountability to maintain the facilities Housekeeping and Laundry departments.
Assuring services create a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and guests.
Director manages and advises the Housekeeping and Laundry departments, to assure its function and consistency with state and federal laws and regulations.
Tasks include:
Manages the schedules of Housekeeping and Laundry staff Oversee the cleanliness/sanitization of patients rooms, hallways, lobby's, offices Manages bed management for admissions, transfers, discharges Maintains a clean workspace and equipment Education and
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent 1
years' experience in Housekeeping or equivalent position Prior experience in long term care Prior experience with Infection Control Performance Requirements:
Strong organizational skills Knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the essential functions of the job Effective use of interpersonal skills Ability to communicate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members Initiative and flexibility in work environment Ability to establish and carry out priorities Working Conditions:
Ability to stand and walk intermittently throughout the working day Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents in correspondence to state and federal procedures and regulations Must be able to lift, push, and/or carry 25- 50 lbs.
